VINTAGE
Vintage 2015 started with wet and very windy conditions in Spring and early Summer. Cyclone Olwyn passing by the region brought more rain in Autumn with cooler night time temperatures. This had a positive result, extending the ripening period for red wine varieties quite nicely giving them more ‘hang time’ to enhance fruit development flavour profiles and deliver softer tannin levels.
VITICULTURE / WINE MAKING NOTES
Fermented then matured in French Oak for 12 months. Filtered and fined prior to bottling.
TASTING NOTES
The nose is full of dark cherry and blackcurrant, with lingering spicy notes. The palate is rich and intense with mulberries, raspberries and plums. Finely integrated with lovely cedary oak and a touch of dark chocolate, mocha and cigar notes. Great structure, length and wonderfully balanced acidity. The tannins are soft and silky.
